Gioyous Maps is a mapping project from gioyous.it focused on making maps useful online and when connectivity is limited or unavailable.
Project direction
The development direction includes online map browsing, cached map data, and downloadable geographic data for offline use. Offline routing is also being explored. The project has investigated MapLibre for rendering and BRouter for routing, with Android as a primary target.
Privacy-first goals
Gioyous Maps aims for a client-side experience without requiring an account, advertising, telemetry, or a cloud service for basic use. These are project goals; check release notes to confirm which capabilities are implemented in a particular build.
Development status
This page is the canonical project landing page. It does not imply that every planned feature has shipped.
